Milagros de Dios

Alright world, are you ready?
I would like to introduce you to some of the greatest people in this world.
So do you remember Brayan from last week? the kid who works from 6:30am-11pm?
So this week we taught him about the Book of Mormon and when we did we were reading 3 nephi and he stopped' us while we are reading on verse 19. This is when Christ visits the Americas and while he is there he calls Nephi to come forth and its says
"19 And Nephi arose and went forth, and bowed himself before the Lord and did kiss his feet."

Brayan stops us and say, wow I like that. So we ask why, and he says, because I would hope to do the same one day.  Ok alright, your cool, right no big deal.....
That is until we have the next lesson. First he walks into the lesson and we ask him how he has been. He says "GREAT! I shared with my friends some of the things that I have been learning and some of them are taking interest. I also was praying for my food and my grandma saw me and asked what I was doing. i explained ot her and also invited her to read the Book of Mormon. I also was invited to a discoteca(like a club) but i decided it wouild be better to stay at home and sleep."
Im sorry but if your jaws havent dropped y'alls are crazy. We were shocked. We have never said he should do any of those things, but he did them!!!
We then asked how he was doing with his prayers to know if the church was true and he said this," I think I received my answer. I think its true. Ever since I started with you guys I've felt more peaceful and I genuinely want to help people while I work. Im happier so this must be God."

Needless to say, Brayan arrived to church this Sunday in a beautiful blue shirt ready to partake of the sacrament. I am amazed by this kid. He is an exmaple to me of true faith in God. Also especially for mom and dad, his baptismal date is for the 5th of August (special day for you/22nd anniversary) (: It will be a joyous day filled with the pure love of Christ.

Denis is another invesitigator who also came to church. He is a little scarred from his ex -girlfriend and his walk away dad, but he also has been excersizing his fatih and has been to church twice. He has a baptism date set for the 13th of August.

Julio Cisneros, a Part member Family who is one of the hardest old men I have ever met, also came to church! Even though it was only the first hour, its the first time. His wife, an active member hugged us so tightly and thanked us. It was a very happy Sunday.

Brandy, Hna. yanet's son is also doing well. He is such a goofball and super shy but this week he made some friends with kids in the ward so hopefully he will feel more comfortable to come to church this next week. (:

Oh like I also said last week, they took out the Elders of Sullana 3 so we now have our area and theirs. Its been interesting getting to know it and now we have 11 recent converts to teach but its great. I LOVE LOVE LOVE bieng a missionary. God is placing his chosen children in our path. Hna. Arce is an angel and she helps me always. Saturday i didn't want to run but she helped me get up at 6am to go running and i felt great afterwards! However we are working so hard that Saturday night I fell asleep durng nightly planning!!! AH! haha but the Lord gives me strength and I am grateful (:
I hope you all enjoyed my miracle week. God is real and He touches each of our lives.

" Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

Or what man is there of you, who, if his son ask bread, will give him a stone?

Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"

Love you all, Hermana Tanuvasa

Kayla in Sullana

Hermana Arce and Hermana Tanuvasa

Sullana

Hermana Tanuvasa and Hermana Arce in their sombreros :)

Hello World and my family of God,

(Kayla was transfered last Monday to an area called Sullana, which is 45 north of the city that she was in )

So first off I LOVE SULLANA!!!!!! So in the ward Sullana,  there were 3 companionships, 2 sets of elders and us, but they closed one area of the elders and they are adding it to us so this week will be a fun adventure with Hna. Arce getting to know our new area together!!! First time in the mission doing this so I am super excited!!!!

To start I want to share a scripture I found in 1 Corinthians 3:6-8

6" have plantedApollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to hisown labour."
and in John 4: 35-36
"Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together."

This is the work of God and Christ is the foundation, and when we work in it, we will be filled with joy. :) How beautiful is that?

So to share one amazing experience this week that just happened last night. There is a kid named Bryan. He's 17, he doesnt know his dad and his mom left him, so he lives with his grandparents. He says his grandma is his best friend and he loves to play soccer. He isn't in school, but he works from 630 in the morning to 10 at night. And this is how we found him,

First on Thursday, we had a member accompany us during the afternoon, but
sometimes, often, as things go, almost all of our appointments fell through. So we decided to knock doors/look in the directory for PF´s. Our member was a little frustrated after the first fifteen doors rejected us, but at number 30 she was frustrated. She exclaimed, no one wants to hear us. My companion encouraged her saying, dont worry, God will provide. Less than five minutes later, we were walking up another street and we pass a mototaxi kid. We first say hi and then keep walking but something, the Spirit, insists that we go back. We talked with him and set an appointment for the next day. We couldn't go the next day and the appointment was transfered to Sunday. Well, basically I loved two things he said in the lesson. First, when we were talking about how we can ask God a question, his answer was so innocent and yet so profound.

"Well, I think I could imagine how his face would be and how he would look at me, and then I would ask him kindly, and wait for an answer. "
Wow, if only every one of our prayers was as Bryan explained.
Then we invited him to pray and ask and then asked him that if he received his answer if he would be baptized. He accepted and then we asked why.  Simply,
and yet with power that hit my heart, he said, "Well, its like you guys explained,
I need to be cleaned from my past mistakes, so if God tells me where I can do
that, of course I will do it."

We left overjoyed from that lesson. And Bryan is only one in the TEN NEW

INVESTIGATORS we found this week. 6 have a baptismal dates and 3 attended church. Hna. Yanet is doing super welll. She is reading her Book of Mormon and you can see that she has more peace in her life. We met her son as well, which is another miracle experience.

Honestly, Ive learned this principle- This week Ive been seeing what great
things the Lord has in store for His children. Faith, or obedience and trust in
God, that moves us to repent and be humble, is what in the end, brings to pass miracles. God can only work according to the faith of men. I have come to understand. As I have studied and pondered, almost my whole mission, I've come to see that faith isn't just believing. Its acting! And especially acting in accordance with the commandments of God, one of the most important commandments being, repentance.

God works miracles. We work along side him. Even if at first the fruits are small, God is there, and He will provide.
Love you guys tons!!! Have an amazing week :)

Miracles and funny stuff

Hermana Arce and Hermana Tanuvasa

Mom and my wonderful adorable and too different family!!!
So I LOVE SULLANA!!!
What a miracle filled area with such wonderful people. First of all my companion, Hermana Arce is an angel!! And we must have some relatives because her family comes from Spain too!! Mom, go find out por favor ahhaha
She is obedient with exactness and her testimony is beautfiul. She truly understands the purpose of the mission field.
Sullana is hot, but not too much more than Piura. There are hills so I will have even more extremely toned legs when I get home haha. Our area is a good size, but we only have  a few members in our area. The other elders area have the majority. We are the only hermana companionship in all of Sullana, but it is fun with Hermana Arce and I.

So I just want to share two amazing miracles.
This week we found 5 new investigators of gold. First was an hermana named
Yanet. She was a reference from a girl in our ward and when we  first visited her,
she had told us of many problems that were occuring between her and her new husband of one month. We had left the BOM and a tarjeta(card) that explains how to pray. Then we saw President and Sister Rasmussen  and the Gentrys on Friday. He told us that hermana Yanet had called the office and an Elder there had helped her and she asked that we pass by again. We had an appointment for later that day with her and her husband. There, She told us that she had fought with her husband and wanted to leave and die (bit extreme but yes) and so she grabbed the tarjeta and saw the number and called. She said that Elder Vasquez taught her how to pray and when she did she felt an immense peace. Wow. Her husband also accepted a baptismal date and they promised to read together the book of mormon and completed it. She and her husband are so ready for the gospel.

Another miracle investigator is a kid named Antoni. We were looking for his mom
who was a contact but he received us. We taught How to start to Baptize and at
the end with a few inspired questions he told us that when his dad had passed
away that was when he began looking for help and found Christ but that he was
so interested by the possibility to ask God a question and that he would answer.
When we asked that if he received an answer if he would be baptized, he immediately answered, Of course, I will follow exactly what God tells me, who wouldn't? ahha I laughed inside saying oh you would be surprised.
Family, I testify that there are people waiting for this gospel. They hunger and
thirst for righteousness. All God asks of us is to be obedient and humble enough to be guided towards them.

I am so happy and so humbled. I testify that we can be humble and repent and
recognize Gods hand in all things.

Mom sounds like EFY was an amazing experience. And even more amazing with what happened with that woman. God truly places people in our path, we just have to pay attention to the Spirit to know when and how to act. The pictures are adorable and I am dying of laughter of Tai. Who else would do that? also, Keanu and Benj are sooooooo diferent holy cow it scares me. They are getting so big. Kai!" Keep your teeth ok and afterwards we can go give them to some people here in Peru who dont have any. Hahaah jk but seriously lol.
Hey funny experience this week. We were knocking doors and we find this tiny
old lady with cross eyes and she invites us in. We begin talking and we quickly realize that she won't understand our message. We invite her to come with us to church, but she says she doesn't leave. We invite her to read, but she says she can't see. So we only invite her to pray and she accepted so ... and then she prays.... and prays... and prays.. 15 minutes later I had fallen asleep and then woke up and realized we needed to finish because she was praying for every homless child in every counttry. So i opened my eyes and my companion looks at me and mouths what do we do? HAHa so I told her on the count of three we say Amen and 123 AMEN!!!! HAHAHA!!!! The little old lady says "oh amen" and opens her eyes lol. BEST LAUGH EVER. Gotta love the old people.

Love you guys tons!! Take care and nest week I will update on Yanet and her
husband Eric and Antoni.
Love
